A Day on the Farm: A Book by Elia Beck

I have a book "published"! I wrote it for my Intro to Educational Technology class this semester; click here to give it a read! This book is fully narrated (by me; click the little audio icon on each page), every page contains a picture taken either by me or by one of my friends, and I have even included a short milking demonstration video to show you how it's done! (I have no idea why I'm so inordinately proud of an 11-page picture book with extra content, but here we are.)

Progress Bars

The Noble Thief (Book 1 of the Zoana Chronicles): First Final Draft at 2K Words

The Noble Thief is a story about a princess who, having run away from home after her uncle usurped the throne, has learned to survive on the streets as a common thief. When a painful betrayal sends her on the run once again, she must gather up her courage to fight her way back to her rightful place before her uncle's tyrannical laws turn her entire kingdom into a dark dystopia.

The Scarred Queen (Book 2 of the Zoana Chronicles): Pre-Planning Stage

The Scarred Queen is intended to be a follow-up story to The Noble Thief, chronicling Lyn's journey now that she has become its Queen. I have no idea what it will entail; I kind of need to finish Book 1 first.

Landsong: Current Draft at 9K Words

Landsong jumps back to the distant past of Zoanan, when Wadati and Benioff were well aware of one another and hated each other. Wadati has invaded Benioff, and Crown Princess Dusk has been captured and taken back to Wadati. After being forced to marry Wadati's Crown Prince, Dusk seeks a way to take down her husband's tyrannical father and stop the war before it's too late for her people.

Dungeons and Dragons Game-to-Story Adaptation (As Yet Untitled): Pre-Planning Stage

“You may be wondering why you are here. The short answer is that, previous to today, you all agreed to be here as participants in a reality television show airing in the near future. Over the coming weeks, you will be competing for an incredibly valuable prize: your memories, encased within shards of blue crystal. Ranking in the competition depends both on how many memories you recover and how long you survive before elimination; whoever has the highest cumulative score at the end of the show will be rewarded with twenty-seven cubic feet of pure gold...
Twenty-five contestants wait in a white room while a mysterious voice speaks from the walls, explaining the D&D-like competition ahead of them. They are each given clothes fitting their given character classes, weapons, and a backpack full of gear, and then sent out into a playing arena to play out a game of D&D in real life.
But they quickly discover that this is no safe competition. The host has been lying; the arena is a death-trap, the gold is a hoax, and the only audience for the supposed "reality show" is the psychopath running it all.

My ultimate goal with my writing is to make it possible for people in all situations to get their hands on clean, well-written fantasy/dystopian reading material for as low a price as possible.
I have no idea how I'll publish and sell my books when they finally get done, and I have chosen not to worry about it yet. When I finally have a draft that my beta readers like, I will search for an editor, but until that day I'm going to focus on writing and improving my craft. Keep an eye on this page to see what projects are on my mind!
