No books published yet! But be patient; they'll come one day!

Progress Bars

The Noble Thief (Book 1 of the Zoanan Chronicles): Third Draft at 28.9K Words

The Noble Thief is a story about a princess who, having run away from home after her uncle usurped the throne, has learned to survive on the streets as a common thief. When a painful betrayal sends her on the run once again, she must gather up her courage to fight her way back to her rightful place before her uncle's tyrannical laws turn her entire kingdom into a dark dystopia.

The Scarred Queen (Book 2 of the Zoanan Chronicles): Planning Stage

The Scarred Queen is intended to be a follow-up story to The Noble Thief, chronicling Lyn's journey to finding a King for Wadati, now that she has become its Queen. I believe it will be primarily a romance, with a few more dramatic/epic fantasy elements due to the aftermath at the end of the previous book. The romance will, I think, be in the style of fairy tales such as "The Princess and the Pea" or "The Golden Goose."

Lioness (Book 3 of the Zoanan Chronicles): Planning Stage

Lioness is intended to be set in Wadati around 140 years after the events of the previous two books, at about the point of Wadati's Industrial Revolution. At this point in time, Wadati is on the brink of war with a neighboring kingdom known as Benioff, and a rurally-raised young woman named Anna decides to do what she can to stop it from happening. Why? I don't know yet! But I'll figure it out!

Landsong (Book 0 of the Zoanan Chronicles): Second Draft at 16K Words

Landsong jumps back to the distant past of Zoanan, when Wadati and Benioff were well aware of one another and hated each other. Wadati has invaded Benioff, and Crown Princess Dusk has been captured and taken back to Wadati. After being forced to marry Wadati's Crown Prince, Dusk seeks a way to take down her husband's tyrannical father, and stop the war before it's too late for her people.

Note that all 4 installments in the Zoanan Chronicles will probably not make it past novella length. I tend to write short for some reason... 😐

Fairy Tale Retelling: 16.2K words (Stalled)

Intended to be a retelling of The Little Mermaid, this particular story has fallen by the wayside recently. Still, I think it will have lots of fun magical creatures, plenty of in-world myths and legends to play with, and even a touch of romance. :)

Falconflight: Stalled

Falconflight is a story about a young woman with the wings of a bird, taken far away from her own people at birth by humans who wished to study her. Though she has grown up, more or less, like a normal human, she eventually decides it is time to find and rejoin her own people. Aided by unlikely friends in odd places, she runs away from the place she was raised to find her true home.

My ultimate goal with my writing is to make it possible for people in all situations to get their hands on clean, well-written fantasy reading material for as low a price as possible.
I have no idea how I'll publish and sell my books, when they finally get done, and I have chosen not to worry about it yet. When I finally have a draft that my beta readers like, I will search for an editor, but until that day I'm going to focus on writing and improving my craft. Keep an eye on this page to see what projects are on my mind!
